Living Stones

Living Stones is a monthly prayer initiative that offers a deeper opportunity to engage in prayer for the work God is doing at CornerStone.  1 Peter 2:4-5 says “As you come to him, the Living Stone - rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” This scripture reminds us that we are being built by a master craftsman and we have a role to play. What a blessing it is to have an opportunity to partner with our Creator through the gift of prayer and intercession!  Tyler Staton said “the aim is not to get God in on what I think He should be doing.  Rather, the aim of prayer is to get us in on what God is doing, become aware of it, join it, and enjoy the fruit of participation.”  What a gift to be invited to participate in His divine plan for CornerStone!

What does this look like?  Our small prayer team meets once a month around a lit candle symbolizing “God with us.”  We create space for silence and surrender while exhaling the stressors of the day.  We share ‘prayer stones’ representing current ministry needs that are then prayed over.  Prayer is the cornerstone of everything we do and it is a privilege to meet together with a small group willing to give an hour of their month to prayer.  We invite you to consider joining us for our next meeting on March 19 at 6:00 PM at the CornerStone office.
